One of the highlights of the conference was the talk by Cho Seo Hwan from Aekyung Industrial Company. Other highlights included presentations from the New Zealand Post, the City of Chattanooga, the Governor of the Shizuoka Prefecture home of Mt. Fuji, and an individual from the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry. The final event on the Tuesday, just prior to the close of the conference, was also an historic event. The official announcement was made regarding the formation of the World Marketing Association. This announcement was made by Mr. Donos Lambrinopoulous the outgoing Chair and the Honourary President of the European Marketing Confederation. In his brief statement he indicated the Association would create by-laws and a code of ethics governing the conduct of the marketing profession world-wide. There will also be a web site developed to support the Association's efforts. In his closing remarks he encouraged cooperation for members through regional and national bodies. Any member of the Institute interested in obtaining more information on the conference and speakers' presentations should contact Bruce Hoggard in Saskatchewan at (306) 374-6747. |
